Lightbulb XJR Brake booster vacuum feed

Has anyone improved on the plastic ferrule and tube at the intake? Pretty sure mine is leaking and could be causing or adding to P0300 code. Had this problem with my '02 STR also. Thinking of putting in a brass 3/8 inch nipple and barbed connector.

The fitting on the valve cover from my experience is referred to as a banjo fitting

I can be wrong but is a researching starting point

You can apply a soft leak putty and test if it gets rid of your code

But then you have the large rubber diaphragm in the brake booster assembly

It shouldn’t be too hard to come up with something more robust than OEM in this case. Tapping the hole in the inlet without swarf going in would seem to be the main challenge!

Your intake manifold is different than the pic for the normally aspirated

How do you remove the hose? There has to be a trick. That is what is causing my P0300. I also need to find one. I hope you dont have to pull off the intake

Yes there is a better way - I have attached photo of my fitting made some years back. It comprises off the shelf Aeroflow fittings. It is easily removed by undoing the swivel nut shown with a 17mm spanner. The hose is attached via a barbed fitting.
From memory I had no problem attaching the threaded section into the manifold and it provided a leak free and easily detached fitting, much better than the original.

How do you get the original host off and do you have a post that you built this and what parts you used?

That looks like a aircraft AN or MS fiting that comes in aluminum to be cheaper

You will have a O - ring up against the manifold with a through union fitting before the threaded B nut

AN / MS / NAS | PipeandHose.com

Maybe Summit Racing on their website but they won't be cheap , hardware store plumbing section ?

I have attached a picture with the required fittings, Aeroflow fittings that should be available in the USA I believe and really not expensive.
There is no no drama involved with threading the intake elbow with a M16 x 1-5 thread, the elbow is readily removed. I have used 5/16" silicone hose to sleeve over the existing hose to the brake booster and then fit to the alloy fitting.
The 11/16" nut is a swivel nut so it is merely a matter of undoing it & removing the fitting with the hose attached.

I think it is the mater of pushing down on the outside collar on the manifold and not the Immedient one next to the tubing
