XJR transmission mount
Hi guys,
The transmission mount on my XJR has a huge amount of play in it. I can lift the transmission up with my hand and there is 2-3" of movement.
Because of this I assumed it was shot so bought both springs and the bush, but after fitting them it's exactly the same. Surely this can't be normal?
Does anyone have any experience of this?
Regards,
John

Jaguar has long been in love with the loosey-goosey, upsy-downsy tranmission mounts
. My XJR trans does the same (as did my older Jags) although 3 inches might be getting excessive. This causes problems with the wiring connector.
Jaguar revised the specification of the mounting springs.....can't remember the details. I have the newer type on my XJR. I think this reduced the excess movment althoughI can't remember for sure. It was several years ago that I installed them
Cheers

My tech told be that my shifter cable was stretched beyond proper adjustment. MNA4830DB I'm thinking the stretched cable and a every morning clunk may be telling me to address the springs and bushing.
