Default XJR6 A-Frame Removal

Lately i been battling with my rear suspension, I had huge trouble refitting the strut + spring back into the seat so i decided to drop my a-frame to save my self the trouble.

According to black onyx
Tech
I loosen all the bolts I see but the aframe remain intact, now.. i'm curious can anyone tell me where the 15mm bolt for the anti roll bar is at? I couldn't figure out where the heck the bolt might be at, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jacky,

This diagram from jaguarclassicparts.com may help you find the anti-roll bar screws/bolts. Tech does say "If so equipped, remove the 15mm bolts..." so it's possible your car is not so equipped.

This diagram is from:

If you're certain you have all the screws and bolts removed, including the ones that pass through the large rubber subframe bushings, it's possible that your subframe is corroded to the cone fittings on the body. The photo below shows one of the cones on our '93 coated in copper grease to prevent corrosion while I was reassembling:

You can try spraying some penetrating oil on the tops of the large bushings and giving it some time to soak before tapping on the subframe with a mallet to free it.

For several more photos of the subframe that could possibly be helpful, see the link in my signature line for my phototurials.

P.S. I have deleted your duplicate post in Al's thread since you have your own thread here.

Cheers,

Don
