To all,

I have been updating a 2000 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas that was sitting for the last 7 years. After much work, I have the car running again and the check engine light is now OFF. However, on my scanning unit the MAP sensor is showing up like it is about to code and I either want to clean it or replace it to prevent furthur issues. I have already cleaned the MAF and other items, checked belts, tensioners etc. I think working on the MAP is the final think I really need to do have the car running.

With that said, WHERE IS THE MAP SENSOR & WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? I tried looking up the part on various auto parts stores and the pictures that come up are a wide variety. Secondly, I have really looked the engine over and for the life of me cannot locate it.

So any help finding it and maybe a picture of what I am looking for would be a great help.

Thank you for your reponse, information and this guide. No wonder why I could not find this sensor, I was looking for it to be in the manifold like the MAP vs having a vacuum hose running to it. Also it is hidden under one of those skirt covers based what I see in your picture. So tonight when I get home, a quick cleaning is in order and I will see what I get on the scanner, if no improvement, at least I can see the part, get a number and order the right thing.
