Default 00 XJR windshield washer nozzle

Any information among the collective experts on how the washer nozzle operates/adjusts? My 00 XJR nozzle is clogged- in inspection- there are teo nozzle ports perpendicular to the plane of the wiper arm- them ?4? potential ports in/outboard of the two identified nozzles that have rubber ?plugs? in them. Any/all information gratefully accepted.

Anyone have an answer on this? I never really paid close attention -- I could've swore I used to have four jets spray out like spokes. Now I have just one and as I'm looking at the spray area I'm trying to discern if I'm supposed to have two or four.

The rubber plugs are not plugs, but the best way I can describe them is as duck bills. The water is supposed to pass through a slit in the middle. I had the same problem where I was down to one jet, ran a fine needle down each "bill", and now it is working fine. Either they block up, or the two surfaces get stuck together.

Not sure of what you're asking but here's the diagram.

Did the needle method and it worked temporarily, then the duckbills apparently sealed together again. Do I need to run some no-stick spray through them or something? Not sure what else I could do.

Yes, mine seem to have done the same thing. I'd be interested if there's a solution that lasts.

I don't think there is a good solution: just clean the slits every six months or so. Some windshield washer seem to dink up faster than others.

I just had clogging issue with mine that burned out my pump. My flow got worse and worse. I broke it down piece by piece and found the hose from the tank (the long one to the check valve) had a film build up in it and I had to use a nylon electrical pulling tape to fish through it to get it out. You can get a cheap thin one from harbor freight (the refill one, its red).
When I pushed the tape in, it blew out the garbage on the other side. You can try an air hose, but it may not get out all of the scum.
A solution to this may be to put some white vinegar in the tank with the washer fluid or run it through the pump direct once a year. Yeah it won't smell the prettiest, but it'll clean the scum out and dissipates in awhile. Its the same thing we do in FL on our home A/C unit drain lines in the spring to keep them clean...minus the washer fluid.
For the jets, try soaking it in Tilex or other calcium cleaning fluid for around 30 minutes.
