I would. I had mine done at the local transmission shop. The recommended fluid is ZF Lifeguard 5, the cheapest I've seen it is $16.00 liter, and I think a change involves about 7 liters. (plus filter and gasket) It is also recommended to fit the upgrade Transgo pressure relief valve to prevent "A" clutch failure.

I agree with Carnival Kid and Highhorse that you should change your fluid and install the Transgo pressure control valve kit Highhorse mentioned. It may save your A drum.
As far as fluids go, Mobil 1 ATF is not suitable for the ZF 5HP24 because, for one thing, its viscosity is too high (it's a synthetic Dexron III equivalent). I don't know if any of the LiquiMoly fluids are appropriate.
As Carnival Kid said, the fluid specified by ZF is LifeGuard 5. The direct equivalents I am personally aware of are:
ESSO LT 71141
Febi Automatikgetriebeöl Nr. 29738
VW/Audi G 052 162 A2
Pentosin ATF 1
Ravenol ATF 4/5 HP
The California Transmission Supply Company carries ZF LifeGuard 5 at $98.00 plus shipping for 6 liters. Our local NAPA carries the Pentosin, but it's about the same price as LifeGuard 5. The best price I have found in the U.S. is on the Febi from various eBay sellers, at a little under $50 per 5 liter jug with free shipping.
Cheers,
Don

Guys
Do i need to drop the exhaust pipes in order to remove pan for transgo installation?
I did my oil change few months ago and while i was able to remove the filter sliding hand in tight space i wasn't able to wiggle the pan out from between the pipes.
I've got transgo waiting for installation and purchased exhaust gaskets just in case but i'm wondering if there is an easy way

Here's a nice detail of the kit install by member BobRoy... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...pgrade-179012/
Here's a pdf link about the trans for review... http://www.thejagwrangler.com/upload...on_control.pdf
...and last but not least, a video on fluid type and changing...
...I'm sure a site member with experience with this will chime in.

Ready after all, no exhaust drop was necessary, i was able to wiggle pan out with some pain and filter previously removed, so now i have transgo installed and fluid back in, i let it idle a bit and than shifted through gears, first round sounded a bit painful, thing clunked into drive perhaps due to trapped air, second round already went smooth, i hope it keeps like that
Thanks for all sugestions
