03 xjr trans swar to 03 xj8
Is it possible to swap an 03 XJR trans into an 03 XJ8 been getting different opinions so I thoUght I'd ask the pro's. Also what else needs to be swapped e.g. modules etc.

Since the XJR/8 did not convert to the 4.2L engine and transmission until '04 the '03 XJR has a Mercedes transmission, the XJ8 has a ZF transmission.
Difficult, if not impossible to swap.

simple answer is no. I could spend all day explaining the reasons, but it's just not doable because of electronics and can-bus programming differences in each car.
It would be easier to swap the drivetrain, e.g. engine+ancillaries along with the gearbox, plus all related modules, like Test states, a very big job. Just get the correct ZF rebuilt or a low miles one?
