My '04 XJ8 Driver side Dip Beam abruptly stopped working. The little glow bulb quit a year ago. (Can't reach it to replace). Anyway, the headlight bulb and fuse are both good. Anybody have a thought?

I would check the ground connections just to rule it out. There are two behind the passenger headlight and one behind the driver side headlight (LHD). The aluminum body caused issues with corrosion at ground points on a car I previously owned. Repairing the ground points corrected a lot of problems, including some strange headlight behavior.

Also, this is not the section to post about 2004 XJs, that would be the x350 section. Post this question there and you'll probably get more responses. All of the cars in this section were steel body cars; no dip beam headlights either I'm pretty sure.

Be aware that these grounding "studs" can break off extremely easily if you are not careful.
