One of my transmission cooler lines rubbed against the high pressure power steering hose and is leaking. I cannot find a source for both cooler lines. Since this is a tough job, I wanted to replace both lines. Any ideas ? I am in North Carolina...thanks

 

It would be most helpful if we knew what you were working on. XJ8 or XJR. You can use the User CP button at the top and add the info to your signature.
If you have an XJ8 then SNG Barratt a forum sponsor has both hoses in stock. For the XJR they have the supply lines but only one return in stock depending on the VIN.

I had success with using a short piece of oil resistant hose with an ID the same as the OD of the aluminum cooler line. I split the hose, coated the line and the inside of the hose with RTV used for sealing oil pans to blocks.

I placed the line over the damaged area and secured it with plastic 'zip-ties'.

Let it cure overnite and it held the low pressure oil just fine.

Bend all the pipes/hoses so they no longer contact one another.

I have new outlet and return lines, problem is getting someone to install them...or repair the existing line. The hole is in the aluminum line where it rubbed against the power steering line.

 

You can braze the existing line with small copper wire filling . Maybe even on the car if the tube is empty . Fire hazard .
