hi i have a 98 xj8 L with 140k in the clock. Car had been sitting for about 2 months cause it was leakin rad fluid out of the top thermostat housing plastic piece cause of a crack. So we just had it replaced and on the way home the car just cut out and the low coolant light came on and oil pressure code came up and now the car will start for 2 sec and cut out. checked the oil and no sign of anti freeze and the tank was full but its empty again. i thought it was a head gasket but i dont know now......any tips? or where i should start?

 

you know, you MIGHT not have much of a problem. The stall can cause the oil pressure indication and it MIGHT have been from some connector not put back together right. The low level could just be a result of the system burping. That analysis is based on your statement that no coolant was in the oil. Then again....

 

i hope soo...im gonna jump into it tomm and see.....any other input?
