have a 98 xj8L wit 140k on the clock and just got into it this morning....and sounds like its out of timing?....is this possible?....car wont start, cranks fine, and the one time i almost got it to start it started and hesitated, shook for a lil then died....im a lil lost...and i wana try couple more things before the dealer....any suggestions?

 

Sounds like it jumped time on the upper tensioners. Dont try starting it anymore. Pull the cam covers and look at the tensioner, plan on replacing them and hope you didnt jump time or at least not enough to bend valve or break a chain
