I have a small amber light on in my dash. Any idea what it is. My research says may be low on transmission fluid. If the condenses is, that my vehicle is low on transmission fluid. What type of fluid would my 1998 XJ8L take?.Thanks.

 

The only small amber light I can think of is the one that comes on when you’re low on fuel. Maybe post a picture of it?

 

There is not a light for low transmission fluid.

 

I'm saying amber. It's an orange-colored light next to the little red light.

 

I googled the dash of a 1998 XJ8 and it says the light is a "secondard warning message centre."

 

Started and restarted the vehicle a number of times this morning and light is gone out.I had put a new battery in the vehicle.So it may have had to reset.
