1999 jag xj8

can't get the jag emb off the hood, took off large plastic nut like on my 2000 xjr which comes off by that nut only. is there a hidden retainer ring?did they super glue it on it won't flex or budge. any ideas

Mine had double sided adhesive foam tape (PSA) in addition to the nut.

Warm it up with a hairdryer or heat gun and wedge it up with popsicle sticks. Take your time and don't use a screwdriver.
