Lots of fun was had yesterday successfully test fitting a 2.1 KB to an X308 XJR.
The plenum and rear elbow are much less restrictive compared to on the later AJ33S in the X350 and STR, and we are expecting around 450rwhp, as others have achieved with this supercharger on the 4.0 supercharged cars.
This kit will also fit the AJ27S in the X100 XKR for anyone seeking a lot of extra power.
Very exciting to hear the airflow is less restrictive on the AJ27S setup as I'll be ordering one! 450 rwhp and less heat sink sounds like a fun combination
Very interested in this kit, well done on all your work
Can you hear excessive extra whine with this fitted?
Peter
Thank you Peter, it was quite a lot of work as we wanted the quality to be as high as possible.
On normal driving I would say it's not, but it is louder at WOT yes (higher pitched too). You can easily increase or decrease this though with a 5 minute pulley change.
Here's the short story of the long journey the kit took from Wales, UK, to Gardnerville, NV, USA:
UPS picked up the package from OP's on October 24. Tracking was normal for the first few days, then stopped. OP contacted UPS and an investigation was opened on November 1 for a "Lost Package." The investigation went on and on, and by the middle of December, OP began negotiating with UPS for a settlement. In the meantime, OP and I came up with a plan to replace the kit. On January 3, OP received an email with a picture and was asked if this was the shipment. They had found it somewhere and apparently the shipping label had been torn off. UPS put on a new shipping label and got it here on January 9.
So, it's in my garage, but the install date is yet to be determined. It's cold here in the winter and my garage faces northeast, so it doesn't get any sun. I will update this thread when I get started on the install.
Put on some long John’s and a heavy jacket and get out there and get to wrenchin! 😂😂🥶🥶
I prefer long johns and heavy sweats, but it's the gloves that get in the way. Those thin blue things don't cut it when it's 30 degrees in the garage.
And, I put a hold on my parts gathering when the package went missing, so I'm getting back in to that. It's time to replace the hoses under the SC and I want to do the heater hoses (the octopus) since they're now 23 years old. Plus the 3.5-inch intake tube, fit the oil catch can, replace the cam cover gaskets and the spark plugs, and change out the lower pulley from the 7-inch to a 6.3-inch.
I put a pellet stove in my garage and its been wonderful. If I know I'll be working in the garage I'll light it when I get home from work and go out after dinner to a garage in the 50's-60's in the winter. Comfortable working in a long sleeve shirt. Alternatively a big buddy propane heater on your grill tank works really well too.

Or just ignore us and wait till spring.
Just make sure you have enough proper ventilation/exhaust ducting to keep the CO to a livable level...
The propone heater looks like the best way to go and there's plenty of ventilation; that's one of the reasons the garage stays cold. The other reason is that it's TFC outside.
I'll have to see what the weather's like when I get all the parts together.
Ken, when you get a delivered package, is it just in a cardboard box and dropped off at your doorstep or do you have to pick it up from a warehouse during certain times of the year? How does that work?
