Just when I thought everything was going well. 2 new error codes popped up p0455 emisssions large leak and p1000 fuel metering. Can anyone point me in the right direction to take care of these. 2000 xj8 vdp

 

P1000 means the OBD system has not gone through all of the checks, so scratch that one off the list. It changes to P1111 when it is done- I just wnet through explaining that to a smog tech (he didn't believe me until it passed)

 

HOw do I get it to go through all it's checks?

 

+1 on the P1000 / P1111

Nothing to worry about unless you must have P1111 to pass inspection. The checks will complete themselves as you drive or you can force them faster by going through a number of 'Drive Cycles'.

P0455 : EVAP system leak detected (large)

Possible Causes
Fuel cap off
Fuel cap seal defective
Fuel Tank leak
EVAP system leak - canister or pipework damage
EVAP valve to engine purge pipe blocked / damaged / leaking
EVAP valve operating vacuum hose leak / blockage
EVAP valve failure
EVAP valve to ECM circuit open / short / high resistance
