2000 VDP - unused connector near battery

Hi. Replacing battery in 2000 VDP. Noticed an unused electric connector tucked along the floor at the front of the battery bay. Just wondering what it might be for. ??

Recent thread on this. It is used during the shipping process (to the dealer from the factory), believe it or not.
