2000 XJ8 turns over but won’t start
Yes sir...in cases like these, getting a tow to the shop and biting the almost
$500 dollar bullet is the only solution...that is unless you have friends or
associates who have the needed skills and time. Needless to say that
finding a respectable shop, with the needed familiarity with Jaguar repair
procedure can be challenging in its own right.

Last ditch try would be to remove rear trunk liner and bang on tank at the same moment with battery charger directly on socket 5 of the fuel pump socket # 5
Again with blade type connector , first try before liner removal
50 amp start setting ? the charger may shift / revert to normal 10 amp setting
This would give a chance to see if the pump motor connector sockets are burnt meaning pump replacement
The fuel pump motor has a ground wire that comes back around to the side of the battery well
On the battery connections normal power route there is a protection module ( mega fuses ) on the battery cables in the trunk that the terminal nuts can get loose
