Default 2000 xj8 x308 limp mode, acceleration, and instrument panel issues

2000 xj8, x308, 5hp24 Trans, Nikasil block

Bought the jag in 2021 and it was in limp mode. Ran crappy but with some lag, still had all the get up and go. The gauges in the instrument cluster are stuck and don't move but I do have a check engine light, boot open, incorrect part fitted, high gear box temperature fault, gearbox failure, low coolant, MIL, and a security check light.
I once tried checking codes with an obd2 reader from autozone and it did literally nothing.

Drove 3000 miles and It ran decent but was still in limp mode. Blew a tire and had it towed home after I replaced the inertia switch and it's ran like literal **** ever since.

It won't get above 60 and getting there takes a half hour at best. Refuses to accelerate at any convenient rate and won't climb a hill. Cleaned the mass airflow sensor, then had to replace fuel pressure regulator because the smell of fuel into the cab is horrific. It's still pretty damn bad. Replaced the fuel pump and surprise, i bent and cracked the fuel line And ran it bone dry so i fixed the fuel line. Now, it will crank but won't start.

I'd like to get it starting but also really need to solve the limp mode, acceleration issues, and dash issue. Any ideas? I'm going to pull the plugs tomorrow and put oil in the cylinders tomorrow afternoon and see if I can get it to start up again.

I checked dozens of INSTPKs when the service action was issued.

You really have two good choices, in my humble opinion: 1. find a good independent or dealer, spend the money, get it fixed; 2. find a tow truck and haul it to a junk yard.

No gas cap; can get the faults readout, but can't follow up with correct repairs: you shouldn't waste your time or ours . . . go buy a new car, with a new car warranty . .
