Default 2000 XJR bypass hose

Gents,

The bypass hose on my '00 XJR was very swelled up so I cut it off and obtained a replacement. This is the 90 degree elbow hose that is on the back side of the water distribution pipe. I'm having a hell of a time getting the new one on so I'm thinking I have to remove the metal pipe in order to get more clearance. Is it just held on with the two bolts at the front of each cylinder head? If someone could post JTIS instructions, that would be swell (pun intended)

this is the thread that talks about removing the supercharger. you have to remove the "water disribution pipe" to get the supercharger out, so the PDF is in there

maybe this will help you

good luck

Many thanks! I'll have a look through the files and see if it contains what I'm after. Pretty sure it'll just be a matter of releasing the two bolts on each head but just want to make sure

I found using the right hose clip tool really helped with that pipe, up until then it was a case of using jubilee clips instead of original.

If you don't mind releasing the thermo housing it is a lot easier, as you're thinking.

Thanks Sean,

I wound up releasing the water delivery pipe from the front of each cylinder head. As I did this over the weekend, I wasn't able to obtain new o-rings for the pipe connections to the heads so I got the new hose on, put the water pipe back on and crossed my fingers. So far, 50 miles and no leaks. Now to figure out what else is causing my ABS light, ASC NOT AVAILABLE and TRACTION NOT AVAILABLE messages, as I just had the ABS module rebuilt, hoping that was the silver bullet...

Ok, quick update;

As has been discussed here many times before, my ABS and traction unavailable messages were sorted with a clean of the right front and left rear wheel speed sensors as well as new harness links to each of them.

Always nice to sort these types of things out!

^ I forgot to mention I had codes C1145 and C1175---hence the RF and LR sensors being the culprits.
