Default 2000 xjr MAF sensor correct part number please help.

Hi all,

I get some rough running symptoms in my 2000 xjr now and again but mostly the car runs fine but does throw up the code p0101, sometimes the car may stall while doing a 3 point turn but this is rarely, when I first got the car i noticed the MAF sensor had some yellow writing on it which told me it was changed at some point from a scrap yard. Ive cleaned it a couple of times but this problem keeps coming back, ive been told that one way to test the MAF is to unplug it while the car is ticking over and if the engine stalls out then most likely the sensor is faulty and needs changing, my car revs drop then instantly goes back to ticking over nicely.when the plug is removed.

The part number on this sensor is LNE1620CB, but is this the correct sensor for my xjr as while looking for a new one this part number looks to be for the 4 litre non supercharged model, can anyone help me out with either the correct part number or tell me if this is the correct sensor I need please.

Many Thanks.

RockAuto lists LNE1620CB as being the correct MAF sensor for your 2000 XJR (and NA XJ8s)

The Jaguar classic parts site list the LNE1620CB for non-supercharged from VIN 853936

For the supercharged from VIN 878717 to VIN F00034 it says LNC1620AA and from VIN F00035 on it says LNE1620BB

My 2002 XJR has LNE1620BB on it and it runs great.

If any of that helps....

For supercharged engines, the Jaguar Parts Catalogue states LNC1620AA up to VIN 878717 (AJ26) and LNE1620BA from VIN F00035 (AJ27). LNE1620BA was, at some point, superseded by LNE1620BB.

It seems that VIN-s F00001 to F00034 were not used.

The 2000MY was the first AJ27 for the supercharged cars here in North America. (the 1998/99 XJR cars were AJ26)

You should have a MAFS with 2 screws holding it into the housing whereas the AJ26 was a complete unit type housing.

Well it turned up for when I got home from work, over the weekend I did also take of the throttle body and also the egr valve and took it apart and gave them both a good clean, egr was caked and the pin was a little sticky trying to move up and down, after the clean it was like new, then put the maf on an hour ago the took for a test drive just a couple of miles, it was the best the car had drove since I bought it over 6 months ago, so smooth and responsive feels like a different car. Thanks for your help.
