Question 2001 Jaguar XJ8 Coolant Line

Hey Guys,
I'm back, sorry for all the posts but gotta get these problems sorted out

I'm glad this happened while the car was sitting rather than going 80 clicks down the highway. The coolant line broke off at both ends by barely touching it. (See attached images).

I found a few websites offering a new tube but i can't find the connectors anywhere. Does anybody know where you can get these connectors or know of a part that can take it's place?

The connector is in the second to last picture. The last picture shows the line back in place where I found it and the squares at each end show where it's supposed to be connected.

Thanks a lot!

banana-

All repalcement lines I have seen come with the connectors. I do not know of a source for the connectors themselves, which would be moot because, as you observed, the tubes become brittle and break. The replacement tubes run between $27.00 to $40.00 as I recall, depending on which one.

I got mine at thye dealer (yeah, I hate it) because I needed them NOW.

Sparkenzap,
Thanks for all the info. Looks like I'll just have to get a new line, found one on eBay for $18.......plus $21 shipping to Canada!

Hi
I found your bleeder hose - part# MNC4582BC - Gaudin Jaguar Parts has it discounted down to $12.79.

I captured 2 of their webpages in this PDF file - Note change your zoom to 100% in your PDF reader:

2001 xj8 Bleed hose part number & price.pdf

The Jaguar Dealership retail list price should be $15.75 US dollars.

If you have a Jag Dealer somewhat near you then I think you would be better off buying this hose from them. Even with a $10 or more shipping/handling added to it.

I just stopped by MCL Vancouver and picked up the part for $27 including tax. Too bad I also bought the part off eBay but had to pay $40 :\. Oh well!!
