2001 XJ8 Lug Nuts
I need to know what lug nuts I have to get to replace several that were difficult in removing and cannot be put back. Can anyone tell me the exact spec and best price other than dealers.... for this model jag -
You are not on the right forum for this, your car is an X308, although I suspect these are the same as the later, (X350) model made from aluminium, (this forum).
I had a look around, and there are plenty of suppliers. They will no doubt be cheaper than a main agent, but the nuts will probably be no longer lived !
I looked for, and failed to find, stainless steel ones. The usual ones have a stainless cap on but the body is ordinary steel which rusts and seized to the stud. The cap can also rotate on the base nut making the nut impossible to remove without destroying it; no doubt this was your problem !

They have an acorn seat.
The stock wheels have a mag type seat. That's why my original answer in the first thread was to get originals unless someone knows how to match up *all* the dimensions and characteristics.

I did some search for you on the jagbits.com
On the main page ,chose your model X308 on the top of the page and scroll down the next page and see the wheel stud
And , your thread moved off to the proper area

I'm very angry with NTB (tire store in US). I had them install two rear tires last weekend and instead of using the proper 22mm driver socket, they used something larger, probably a 1" socket and rounded off every one of my lug nuts. I had to hammer my socket to get it to fit while checking the brakes and those idiots must have used 150 lbs of torque putting them back on. Freakin' apes!
I don't know why they never bother to use torque wrench (may be they don't know what it means lol ) , either these tyre guys are too lazy or too much work on their hand .However, whatever it is they should tighten the nuts by hand or driving air tools gives me "nuts " as well
