Default 2001 XJR

Hi i have had my car for a few years now and love it. Have spent tons on bringing it back to ita former glory. Tho i have noticed a ticking noise. Seems to increase and the engine revs. At cold start up is when its the loudest. Ideas??

They should had been replaced about 17 yrs ago honestly, a known factory oopsie for every X308 except 2003. Prompt the link in my Sig for How To Fix and scroll down to Timing Chain Tensioners by Blackonyx.

Do they have or know someone who can make aftermarket cams for these cars. I figure i might as well do that as well.

That would be cool if you could change the cams for more power.

The member I would talk to about that would be Count Iblis hands down.

I have several cam profile designs ready but have been trying to find someone with a blank of the cam.

For sure, the hard part is done- the cam profile design. The profiles I have push some of the latest innovations- such as optimized ramp heights.

I found a company that would coat existing cams and then regrind on top of that but they want as much as an early X308 XJR is worth. So am still looking into this.
It may come down to designing and procuring a billet if necessary- that in itself may be a feat.

Cheers
