Assuming it's wired stock, the antenna will raise with any audio source you choose; tape deck CD or radio. I pulled the antenna fuse in the trunk on my car 3 days ago.
If you're feeling electrickery minded, you could put a physical switch in the aerial trigger switch loom.
Depending on how your head unit triggers the aerial*, with your HU on and the extra switch off nothing happens, but with the HU on and switch on the aerial goes up, and down when either are switched off.
Worked on the second mast I fitted to my ALFA 75 (Milano) when the first one snagged a plastic bag on the motorway at exactly 70mph and became a little 'distorted', fitted the switch so it only came up when I wanted it too.
Not done it one the Jaag. I really should since most of my radio is received via DAB.*some send an energising pulse on start-up/shutdown, some send continuous 12v to the aerial motor circuitry.
Am I missing something here? If my radio/CD/tapedeck is not turned on, my antenna stays down, and I drive with the antenna down. If at any time I turn the radio/CD/tapedeck on the antenna automatically raises. And if I turn the radio/CD/tapedeck off, the antenna automatically lowers.
Yes, all radios now a days have the power lead function for the antenna (radio, cd or deck use) unless its a windshield or fixed unit. Its usually the blue wire on 3rd party units. Factory units have been doing it since the 80's. Power is delivered to the mast motor when any power function is activated and mast motor power is released when the head unit power is shut off.
