I have an 03 xj8, ans just ordered a new ingnition coil. Didn't realize there were 2 or 4 pin coils, and of course I got a 2 pin and my car has a 4 pin connector.... Does anybody know if someone makes an adapter for this? Im sure it would be a pretty specialized part and probably doesn't actually work with how its wired so i wouldn't be surprised if not, but if I could just get a 4 pin to 2 pin adapter it would potentially save a lot of hastly of dealing with eBay people who don't like to give money back, especially when it was 100% my fault

 

You cannot use the 2-pin coil. These are operated by the ECU via external ignition modules (which your car does not have) and the 4-pin coils are operated directly by the ECU. The ECU-s for the two ignition systems are also different.
