Default 2003 XJR Cassette Eject Override

Good Evening, the car is a 2003 Jaguar XJR X308 with the factory premium sound system.
Does anyone know a way to override the auto-eject feature of the cassette tape every time the ignition is turned off? I would just like the cassette to stay engaged at all times. Thanks!

Actually, I run the Sirius XM radio through a cassette adapter. Satellite radio is all I listen to, but I have to push the adapter in every time I start the car.
Thanks for asking though...

I still have LOTS of cassettes, and yes, it would be nice if there was an override for the auto cassette eject, although I am thinking it is not there.

I'm a SIRIUS listener also, but since I have a third party head unit, I use that connection.

My guess is no -- You don't want the wheels to stay engaged .. they get flat spots and slip.

In the beginning when more magnetism was used (reel to reel/ early cass.) the heads could be effected -- Don't believe that was a problem w/ later cassettes.

That's interesting Highhorse. Does a third party head unit plug into the factory CD changer, or do you have an aftermarket system?

No, there is no direct swap for these. If you pull yours out you'll see. Here's an older thread of mine...https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...5/#post1491946

I just went out to the garage and tried it.
It works like a charm. Took all of 20 seconds.

Haven't had chance to try this yet, but I will tomorrow.

Yeah, he should have made that a little more clear in the video.
Press the "Tape Eject" and the "AM/FM" buttons simultaneously to bring up the radio set-up screen. Then, press the "5" on the keyboard to bring up Automatic Tape Eject. Press "No" and you're done.

Press the "AM/FM" button and the "Tape Eject" button simultaneously and you will enter the setup mode.

Then press the #5 button to turn the tape-eject feature on or off. .
