Default 325MM Rotors-Advice Appreciated

Hi, I have a 98 XJR...

Replacing my 305MM drilledslotted frt rotors with 325MM dimpled/drilled/slotted. I thought the 305MM Caliper brackets would work, BUT was wrong. I do not want to file the brackets down and weaken them I looked for a long while for 325MM brackets for my calipers but unable. I searched the forum but unable to find info.

Can anyone offer advice where to find the correct brackets?

That's a custom job - are the 325mm discs the same width as the 305mm discs, i.e. 28mm/30mm/32mm?

I've got a set of Alcon machined EN31 nitrile coated adaptors and calipers that will fit perfectly...

Ok so they have arrived. 12 days after I paid for them. But NO Brackets came with the calipers as they said on the website when I was checking out. I called customer service and all they are is a drop shipper IMO work on a small % for revenue. Not to bright.
The calipers however are meaty Centrics calipers NEW and not a recon job etc...My problem is that I NEED 325MM supporting caliper brackets for them!

Sean,

After research/review I can say with confidence that they sold me STOCK Centric Calipers...for 126.00 they can be found on Amazon for 65.26 with free shipping... Nice fancy website and when you click on 325MM calipers you get fuzzy...but it is not to be..Back in the box and being sent back to CA..
I continue to search out 325MM calipers and really do not want to pay $300.00 each...Cast Iron? pallllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.LOl

The confusing thing - R's are equipped with 325mm as standard (not 305mm), 355 with R1 option, why would you have XJ8 brakes? To be clear, you have 355mm discs and need the 355 calipers?

The above calipers just bolt on with 355 disc clearance.

Or make adapters for your ATE calipers (if the discs are 32mm thick against 28mm, the ATE calipers will need machining out for clearance) Like this kit...

Hope this helps

@seanb What size are your rotors on your car? don't think i'm gonna be able to drop $2500++ on an AP or ALcon set so I might get a set of Brembos. What do you think of the brembos for these cars? I want a beefy look and I am running the 20x9 perseus wheels. I was going to put a set of drag slicks on the asteroids but if they dont clear the brakes I'll just sell them.

I have
@Rlover - standard caliper with Pagid RS-15 Grey pad.

Yet to try the RS-15 but recommended highly by a hi power member I use DS2500 atm...

@ TC, I'd recommend this for your powerboat

Brembo in my experience are marginally better than the standard system, with either of the above pads there should be an improvement. Of how much, I don't know.

Hi Sean,

I have my "redstuffpads" and the 325MM rotors, My stock caliper brackets did not fit the 325mm rotors. So I have been on the hunt for Calipers that could fit the 325mm and replace the 14yo calipers. Let me know your thoughts on reasonably priced calipers for the 325mm rotors and if you have part #'s so that I can shop for the lowest price...Thank YOU for your responses, big help finding direction...One good thing did come out of this I hope I have saved others from shopping at R1-Concepts and selecting the 325MM caliper option ONLY to receive bone stock calipers at TWICE the price..

They will clear the rear Brembos, but if you want them on the front, you'll need spacers.
