Default 4.2 v8 and zf6hp/8hp

How feasible is a retrofit of the later engines and trannies on the x308?

Not really. All computer-controlled so you'd need those and then they'd need the immo etc stuff such as dash gauges and the ones for fuelling and then ... well, as I said, not very.

Or you get very expensive and replace the modules with custom ones. Cheaper to buy an entire car.

Thanks JagV8

Nothing comes close to the x308 exterior beauty...so was having a kill two birds with one stone idea... Benefit from the later tech but keep the original body...

You could put some engine or other in with some PCM or other, and so on. Still quite a project.

Yep,

Have found a thread with some details. This is quite a humongous undertaking!! I do not think I will attempt it. Better to just get the entire animal as packaged but will keep my mind open just in case!

I know what you mean AfricanJag!
I too love the beauty of the x308 style, and am often dreaming and contemplating shoehorning the modern 5.0 from the current Jag line up, and dropping that in the engine bay!
Maybe one day!

You are on the same page Jimbo.

Be sure to share the ins and outs if you try this sooner than later.

Cheers!!

Have you looked into the Chevy conversion?

Jaguar V8 Kit

That doesn't look terrible to do and lots of options.
