RE: The speed sensor question:
There were some poor quality wiring lengths fitted to the speed sensors on some of our Jags. The wires were sometimes spliced at the factory when they were too short. They were also sometimes simply installed too short to take the repeated movement of the suspension, resulting in failure.
So broken or failing wiring can cause the ABS faults too.
When you clean the sensors, check the wires as far as you can trace them.
Sometimes removing and cleaning the sensors moves the wires enough to initiate good contact again and the problem disappears, for a while.
You can splice out the bad part(s) or order new speed sensor wiring pigtails from the dealer.

ABS module
Have been getting ABS & ASC message for some time. Ordered a rebuilt OEM module and put it in yesterday. Messages still there, plus "low brake fluid warning, incorrect part installed, and restricted performance" codes. After installing new module (exact part # match), bled brake lines and topped of fluid. Tried a hard reset. No go. My OBD does not read Jag codes. And by chance when I test drove car, the speedometer is not working.
Part supplier suggested that a hard reset would correct all the warning messages - which it hasn't. Someone told me that the car has the serial number on the original model in its memory. Any chance of that? Any ideas at this point would be appreciated. My wife wants her ride back.

Throwing parts at the car without knowing what exactly is wrong can get expensive. You need to take to someone with the proper software to diagnose the problem. It may be that you just need the replacement to be configured to the ECU. When replacing modules you need to match the VCAT in the trunk exactly, including the three digits at the end to avoid needing the IDS software requirement.
If in the Atlanta area I would suggest Enzo's in Marietta.
