Default Accelerator pedal stop adjustment

Hi all,

How does one adjust the height of the stop under the accelerator pedal of a 1998 X308 ? Whats the correct procedure? I think mine is too high but I'm not sure how many turns down it should go.

Looking forward to hearing from you ~ Denzil

Doesn't turn, it slides up and down. All you have to do is a quarter turn and then adjust and a quarter turn back.

I think we are talking about two different things. Here's the part I'm talking about.

Accelerator pedal stop

@Quadcammer is right. That little clip when rotated lets big button slid up and down.

Hi. Here's what I have learned. The stop which I am reffing to (in the photo previously posted) does not have any sliding mechanism. If you rotate it clockwise it goes down, towards the floorboard. If you rotate it anticlockwise it comes up towards the accelerator pedal. With an OBD2 scanner, rotate the stop until it shows 98% on the scanner with the pedal fully down and touching the stop.
Thanks and regards ~ Denzil

I don’t believe XJ8s have the kickdown switch.
