Recently when I lock the car with the fob or the key, the alarm will go off right away. If I unlock with the fob and then lock again while the alarm is sounding, the alram doesnt go off againno. Very embarrasing at 2 am...

Help!!!!!

 

There are 2 things you can initially try, ...do a hard reset by removing the battery terminals from the battery and holding them together for about 20 seconds to bleed of any excess energy and wait another 2 minutes then reapply the terminals. This should reset the system.
Another way (my preferred way) if that doesn't work is to disconnect the DDM control unit in the drivers door (see attached) for about 2 minutes and reconnect to reset the security block.

If neither of those work (which is rare), you may have a faulty module or microswitch indicating an open circuit and setting off your alarm.

I have a 2004 XJ8 Jaguar. I lost my key. But I went to the salvage yard the other day and got a key with the ignition and the security lock control module and put in my car now. It is stuck in a loan mode stuck. Help please.
