Default Black box on the fuel pump link lead?

Hi all, As title, can anyone tell me what the black box on the fuel pump link lead pn: LNC3360CA does?

I'm replacing my pump as it died, The old pump has shorted across the pump in and melted the pump end connector of the link lead.

My replacement pump , Delphi . FE0479 has a different connector than the oem but kit includes a short pigtail.

Do I connect before or after the Black box? .. What does it do? Hmmm.

Connect after the black box. If the ends are charred up, you might want to trim a few inches off before reconnecting the new pigtail. The black box is a diode that allows electrical current one way but not the other.

Diode ? In series with fuel pump ? Please make sure that the diode? is intact. Just in case that it is blown and therefore pump doesn't spin.

Not a diode. It is a radio interference suppressor - wire coils and some capacitors. It should have continuity both ways with practically no resistance.

That sounds more like it. I did not see that in the schematic. Allthough I did not look in to every year models.
