Default Bluetooth - Hidden Feature

I have never read this on the forum anywhere... the other day I had the stereo in the off position, I have never consciously done this, and then I not even thinking about it, dialed the phone... low and behold the stereo lights up "phone" and everything behaved normally as if it were switched on. When I ended the call, the stereo went dark again as it was originally!

Very nice hidden feature which allows the phone function to work with or without the stereo.

If I am restating something that everyone who has done the bluetooth mod already knows, I appologize in advance!

Yep, gotta love the functioning with a decent bluetooth adapter installed via the original phone connections!

It makes total sense that it does this, I just never gave it a thought. I always have the stereo in the on position, whether listening to radio, ipod, or nothing so I had never had the opportunity to try it whether it was an incoming or outbound call.

As quad said, a huge benefit of installing a good bluetooth adaptor through the factory phone wiring.

search this forum and the XK8/XKR forum for bluetooth. You find numerous threads regarding wiring the bluetooth into the phone plug in the console storage compartment. I use the Motorola T605 which can be found for around $25 on Ebay.
