Default burned fan connector pins

What is standard protocol on taking care of a burned out fan connector on a Jag? On anything else I solder/crimp on another pigtail. Does anyone know where to get one for a reasonable price? I havent done any looking? I suppose I could always just use female blade disconnects for this. Let me know. Thanks in advance.

I bought a replacement harness on ebay for 20 bucks. Well worth it. Before I spent the money, I spent three months screwing around with some very well built homemade fixes that all came loose. I wish I would have bought the harness in the first place.

Was that new or used? I cant seem to find one on ebay at the moment. $20 sounds like a deal to me.

Well I couldnt find anyone to sell me even just the used pigtail. They wanted to sell the whole cooling module for like $300. I bought a chevy Cavalier fan pigtail for $10 and it will slide right onto the fan contacts, although the weather seal isnt as functional as it should be, at least the fans work when they are supposed to. The locking tab also has to be bend back on the connector since it wont engage the locking tab on the fan motor. I zip tied the locking tab to the fan body though, just in case it decided to fall off. I dont think it would anyway since it was a snug fit.

You could buy the fan harness from a dealer;

OEM Catalog Item Number MSRP Core Price Price LNF3125AA $93.75 $0.00 $74.06

Or you could contact Jaguar heaven in Stockton for a used one

But you should first find out and solve the issue that burned out the connector in the first place

Well maybe I'm stupid, but there is no way I would pay $75 for a little harness like that. I am sure it's just the fan motor possibly pulling too many amps, but if this works for another 12 years, or less, I would be happy as a clam Thanks for the idea on Jaguar Heaven though, I had not heard of it! Next time I need something used I will look them up!

Perhaps you could find both sides of a fan connector at a local wreaking yard for any car for something like $5. Solder and shrink wrap all splices. Or splice in a trailer light connector. Cheap and available at Walmart.

. . . oops! . . . this isn't the Volvo forum.
