Default A/C smell and window film problems

2001 jaguar xjr. A/C air smells like mildew and a little like anti-freeze. Also, a film constantly forms on the windows. I am sure the two are connected. Does anyone know what might be going on and how to fix the problem?

You'be got a mouldy evaporator/heat exchanger ans are also probably leaking coolant in the engine bay or in the heater. Does it smeel of coolant in the engine bay?

Def get some disinfectant for AC systems and flood the bugger.

These AC systems really have a huge condensation problem. If any of the outlets are blocked, it'll stinkt really quickly.

Do you have two puddles of water under your car when parked?

I'm thinking it could be a leaking heater core. That's the usual cause for window films forming.

The car is new to me and I am still getting acquainted with it. Where can I find the heater core and the condenser? Is any of this that is an easy fix. How do you disinfect the heater?

Here is the TSB issued when I worked at the dealer. I performed this a few times over the years.

You can rig something up to duplicate the procedure.

Might be 'moot-point' if the heater core is faulty.

it looks like I may have this issue and it stinks, literraly...I was thinking excessive pollen post hurricane may have clogged something up...both my condensate lines are clear and not obstructed though ...I did disconnect the drain hose and blew air there and I also squitted some bleach and water through the drain tubes to ensure they were clear and the water came right out the bottom of the car...

I disconnected the drain tube while the air con was running and did not notice much water coming out of the drain hole from the evaporator box only a drop here and there...should the drain holes from the evaprorator box have a steady flow of water coming out? if the condensate drain lines are not clogged can I assume it is the evaporator drain holes are blocked?...

the other thing to take note of is that the AC blows cold and works fine and when the AC is on I do not smell the mold...but let the car sit for 15 mins or so and all I smell is mold when I get back in...this whole thing sucks... PLEASE HELP

I am guessing these type of things would work fine

I had the same problem. However I used an antibacterial spray products found in your local automotive store that seem to work fine, and 'A/C Pro vent and duct cleaner order neutralizer' seemed to do the job. Unfortunately, now, I smell antifreeze. I'll let you know how that goes.
