The two loose things are a very easy fix, the side emblem is held in with two spring tabs, if you grasp the emblem and try pushing it up and out, or down and out, you can bend these tabs back a bit to re-establish tension.

The mirror is a similar thing, if you search on here you'll find threads that describe this little issue and how to fix it. From memory you have to bend the captive spring out a bit to take up the slack you mirror has, after removing it first of course.

The only oil filled bushed I can think of are the engine mounts. The front top shock bushes are an easy fix, in fact there's current thread running on how much they are, and how to go about removing and installing them.

There is no doubt you will fall for the old girl, they have a certain X factor (Soul) about them, otherwise I would have moved on long ago, enjoy!

Wel, Sean you were right about the emblem. Simple enough. I'm gonna take the mirror in to the dealer tho. Looks like pieces parts are loose and wiring is tight. The mirror itself has a strange look. The bottom 2/3s has a slight orange tint...the top 1/3 is clear.
Certainly no hurry on this, the mirror is loose but will hold and I can still use it......

Not having any luck finding an independent mechanic here in Ft Myers....... Again..no hurry on this......

This is a nice car........

Congrats Southern - I am in Sarasota with an '01 XJ8L and loving it. Drive it about 30 miles a day with a smile.

Caveat Emptor, but I have had good, reasonable repair work done at Renaissance Motors here on Clark Road, ask for Brian.

Happy Trails (Tamiami and the rest)!

Be careful of the auto-dimming mirror. They are filled with liquid and it will ruin anything it drips on. This problem seems more common in warm places. You can replace it, or I think I even heard somewhere that there's a place that refurbs them. But, it happened to me, and you don't want that thing to leak.
