Key needs to turn almost 180 degrees. I wish I had been more persistent with the key before I did the license plate method although it does work and got lucky and found the correct spot with the screwdriver fairly quick.

I find the holes behind the plate are very tiny... like a #6 screw... Did you ream out the hole to get the screwdriver pushed in? I'm afraid of reaming, since the hole is where the plate mounting hardware goes in.

I've tried the inside button and trunk button: I hear the 'click', but it doesn't open... The key has way too MUCH resistance... I wrapped a pry-bar in a towel and applied pressure under the trunk-lid while pushing the button, but no luck.

Has anybody had a problem like this?

Jeff:
You are in the wrong forum list. Try the X-350 one for better info on your car.

Try the key wiggle thing first in and out while turning quite hard I though I was going to break mine too but it does have to turn 180 degrees to open and it will turn when you wiggle it just right.

[QUOTE=Zorasmiles;860887]Lear, are the old Jaguar remotes on Ebay capable of being reprogrammed to a new car? I know some FOB's by Ford, Mercedes and BMW can not be reprogrammed to a new vehicle. If they are indeed able to be reprogrammed to our Jags I'm going to pick up a couple to toss in the drawer for when I might need one.

The ebay remotes can be reprogrammed to work as long as you get the exact same part number. I have done it.
