CD Changers and iPods
I am trying to find an iPod adapter that replaces the CD changer in my 2001 XJ8L (factory system).
There was a post about an '01 in the S-Type forum about a product JAG/PC-POD2 which looks perfect but I can't determine if it is also compatible with my XJ8 changer.
Anyone know if the XJ and S-type changers are the same?
Any other non-FM method success stories that fit my circumstances?
Anyone know what make/model these changers are?
Thanks for any clues...

I have the same issue. I am looking forward to some ideas. I am on the verge of getting an FM modulator that plugs into the antenna hole on the radio. I have had no luck with anything wireless, and have gone through a dozen cassette adapters...
I have read that there is an "optical" connection to the changer in this model and that might be why nobody makes an adapter to insert in place of the changer. I am still holding out hope, but when I get to the end of this quest I'll post my findings here.
If there is no plug and play solution, I am looking at putting a dock connector in the armrest compartment with power from the cig lighter and tapping the audio line outs from the changer. You would have to set the stereo to CD and use the iPod controls, but it should work.
Opinions to the contrary are welcome!

i gave up so until i get a new head unit i bought a harman/kardon drive and play that goes into antenna input on h/u and then antenna goes into that. Not perfect sound quality when turned right up due to large signal to noise ratio but does the trick for now
Theres a way to splice into the cd changer I didnt have good results but a few other members did

I have this in my car, connected between the CD-changer and the amplifier in the trunk. Charges the phone too.

Hi.
I use one of in my Alfa because it's got a more integrated facia than my Jag, but the head unitneeds changing for full functionallity as the sound quality with that adapter is good rather than really great, but for £4 or so, and no faffing with wires, it's worth it. DO NOT get the white, cheaper one; you'll just have to buy another! This I know.
