CD player error message

CD player error message
Hi guys
Tried to play the CD and it comes up with error "E-01" (I think, cant remember) and wont work. It wont eject the disk cassette either. Always worked before and Im not aware of any reason it should have got damaged.
Any ideas ? Itsa 1999.
