Talking Checkin' Out

Well, I sold my beloved Van den Plas yesterday. Fortunately, it was to a nice guy who I think will take good care of her. I had the car for eight years and
got my money's worth out of it. I did the aluminum thermostat tower, the water pump and of course, the secondary cam chain tensioners and other minor
stuff, but this was a great car. Before her, I had an '85 XJ6 for thirteen years, another great car, after I installed the stakedown kit on the tappet guides.
We see so many people on here that post for the first time or so and have had catastrophic (sp?) damage due to ignorance of the pitfalls that are essential to know about. So, I am really grateful to this forum, it has been a godsend. So, thank all you guys, you know who you are. ;^)
I'll be moving over to the XK8 forum. I picked up a '06 XK8 convertible (my midlife crisis is a little late). It's gorgeous. Hopefully, I'll have this one for a long
time too.
Cheers,
JimmyL

Good luck with the XK8, Jimmy. I would love one of them, but I just don't fit in it so well!

Jimmy a good day tinged with more than a little sadness!
Congrats, I'm sure you'll love the XK8 but guess it was also hard to let your baby go after 8 years, hopefully though, the new owner will lavish care ad attention on her too.

Happy motoring

It has been a pleasure: have learned from you as you advised and reported on your own lessons.

Wish I could talk the wife into going to a newer XK: the XJ8 is getting long in the tooth. Maybe back to a Range Rover.

Good luck ... I'm searching for an XK8 convertible. Prices are very good.

The checking out bit, that got me a bit worried, thought you was about to fall off the perch!

BUT, thankfully no, you just bought a newer Jag.

SO, you will just be posting in a different sub section of the forum, not leaving!

Thank you for all the help and advice that you passed on to the X308 sub section of the forum, and good luck with the new Jag.
