Code p1121
Hello my wife and I just purchased a 2001 VDP and driving just this past weekend the car just goes into failsafe mode, gearbox fault, asc fault and when putting the car back in park as we past the reverse the car jerks like it wants to take off and the rpm's are high around 1,200 to 1,500. So I turn off the car for about 30 seconds and restart and everything seemed fine, but drive about 1/4 mile and it happened again this time the CEL comes on which is code P1121. Is this the throttle position sensor, the mass air sensor, or the pedal position sensor I had search out. The info seems to be conflicting as to which is the problem.
We did get it back to carmax so they can look at the code error. But would like the help of some of you seasoned Jag owners. Thanks.

RE: Code p1121
The code is for pedal position sensor circuit A range/performance. Faults are: sensor pin 5 to ecm is open, shorted or corroded; there is a sensor power supply fault; a sensor reference voltage ground fault; or finally a pedal position sensor failure. I would check the harness and connections first. Keep in mind that this car has drive by wire throttle, the symptoms you have do make this analysis a possibility.
