Default Code U1135?

I just bought an 2001 XJ8 with 190,000Kms. Scanned the car today (VIN F24581) and kept getting this error code "Ignition Status not obtained" along with a few other door, seat and body codes. Car seems fine and all things work as far as I can tell.

The Body Processor Module itself, has these codes:

U1041 Vehicle speed not obtained.
B1595 Ignition switch - illegal input code.
B1352 Key-in circuit failure.
B1875 Turn signal switch left and right switches active
B2330 Column drive, reach out of range high.
B1507 High beam on and flash both active.

I usually use my scanner with ign on, but without engine running ..this is the first time scanning a more "modern" Jag with OBDB2, I usually drive an XJ40 which has a built in, if more primitive scan ability, so maybe there's a different procedure to do this car?

Any advice? The engine, transmission and ABS etc scans all passed, no codes.

First concern before the codes, how old is the battery, what's its voltage and are the cables in good condition?

Unsure of battery age, I'll check when I go to the storage next time. When I first plugged in the code reader it read 11.8V. The car starts very easily, almost instantly and runs very smoothly.
Judging by overall condition of car, cables should be fine, but I'll have a look next time I go to the car.

Thanks for the reply.

Check the two megafuses in the black box too, one powers the starter & the other the rest of the car. They are known to corrode on the contacts. They're somewhere near the battery at the front of the boot I believe..

Have you tried clearing all the codes and seeing which ones come back? What code reader are you using?

Ok, 11.8v is quite low, as a matter of fact 11.4v is the very minimum you can go. Your in the range of getting ghost codes and you need to verify battery condition first. Some of the codes you may be getting is simply from the low voltage.

Here is what I believe Hooli is talking about... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...common-282011/

Thanks guys, using Anyscan and an XTool A30m scanner. Great unit BTW.

I cleared the old codes when I got the car then re-ran the scan ending up with the stuff I mentioned above on the subsequent scan.

This is a BC Canada car and we have very little corrosion issues out here. No salt in winter etc.

I'll take a look at the mega fuses and cables and stick the car on charge next time I'm out there. Now to find out where these fuses are!

Mega fuses in trunk in front of the spare tire. Also, take your car by most any national auto parts store and have them do a check of your battery, most all do it for free.
