Default Coil Cover Bolts

Help! Can anyone please tell me the size of the coil cover bolts (total of 6 holes per side) for an 1998 XJ8? Thank you in advance.

Its nice to meet another Jag owner from Omaha.
I removed one of mine and measured it. It is 4.87mm diameter X 12mm length.
I believe they would call that an M5 x 12. if not an M4 x 12 if you are not going to buy them at Jag for about $5.00 each I would recommend adding a flat washer since the OEM is a flange/shoulder type bolt.

Send me a PM and I will introduce you to a few of the other Jag owners in Omaha.

Almost but no cigar. You need the thread pitch also, in this case M5X0.8 12mm

My oops forgot to measure the thread pitch. A bit chilly in the garage tonight.

I posted it on here a while ago... I can dig up the thread about it..

I bought all my bolts from Fastenal (88 bolts in total) for about $22.00.

They can match the bolts used on the coil cover exactly. They have a few different options, I opted for the oiled flange bolts, I would also suggest class 10.9 (american grade 8). I will find it and post it for you.

those are the correct bolts. They are also the same for the coil packs as well as the covers.
The only difference is instead of being a 7mm head like the factory ones, these are a slightly more common 8mm head.

We need all 12 as car was purchased without covers. What is your charge for mailing, etc? Thank you so very much.
