cold air intake exiting engine bay
Has anyone been successful routing a cold air intake that extends completely past the engine bay and into the front bumper area on an XJR, similar to what has been done by some on the XKR?
Yes,
I had run a pipe from the fog light hole up through an enlarged 5" hole where the windscreen washer bottle used to be to blow the coldest air possible on the bottom of my open element for my 92mm MAF.
The fog light hole is only 3", which is plenty for adding additional cold air. If you wanted true cold ram air, you should use both fog light holes and run them both into the air box.
The air from the fog light hole is quite a bit cooler than the air coming through the fender because the fender air has had some contact with radiator heat before it gets to the fender.
I like this set up and will keep it. I don't use the fog lights anyways.
