Hi all,

I've just bought my first Jag (well Daimler to be precise) as a project car. It's a 1997 Daimler V8 long wheelbase. It says X300 on a sticker in the engine bay but I guess it's an x308 as the x300 didn't come in a V8 (I'm open to correction on that).

Anyway, the VIN number that appears on the documentation, windscreen and stamp beside the battery all match but when I put the VIN through the Jaguar VIN decoder it comes back as a 2012 S-Type.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?
