Anyone ever have an intermittent coolant leak? Some days a small puddle under the front of the engine (drips off the sway bar) and some days nothing. Low level light comes on and I add to expansion tank every 7-10 days. Looks like thermostat tower and cross-over tubes dry. Looks like wetness under water pump pulley. Picked up some flourescent dye to add to make sure of location and ordered new water pump.

 

Yes, those pumps can behave very oddly. Mine did similar things, the odd leaking. Pressure tested the system and it held its pressure beautifully.

But I was glad to decide to replace the pump. It was very apparent it was definitely on its way out once I had it out. You might as well replace the thermostat as well.
