Default Coolant leak - Outlet cross over pipe

Having successfully battled to replace the thermostat housing which was a bit of a challenge I've put everything back together and there and am now getting coolant being pushed out at the joint where the outlet cross over pipe is attached. There didn't seem to be any O rings on the outlet join hopefully that's all I need.

dumbest post ever possibly. O ring found beneath the car.

Too often, unfortunately, that is how we learn. Taking off the old water pump, back in 13, I removed all the bolts before recognizing that most kept the halves of the crappy pump together.

If the outlet pipe is more than a few years old REPLACE IT!!!!!!!!!

For the $70 a new one costs, it is not worth the damage of an overheated engine.

The resin deteriorates from the hot coolant.

I'm guilty of this too.

Edit: even as I was removing the bolts I distinctly remember wondering why on earth they would need 6,000 bolts to hold the water pump on. Haha

If you’re wondering about all the water pump bolts, just count all the transmission bell housing bolts and the water pump doesn’t look so bad after all.
