Default Cylinder Coil Numbering and Letter Designations

Greetings,

I need a little clarification. I am getting a bad coil reading (P0355 Ignition Coil "E" Primary/Secondary Circuit) on my 2002 XJ8 (manufacture date 8/2001).

I have found this sheet but I would like clarification that the middle numbering schematic is what applies to my vehicle. It seems obvious but it never hurts to confirm.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Robert,

It could be that the coil has failed, or it could be a problem with its electrical circuit. See the possible causes listed in the DTC Summaries Guide, which you can download at this link:

Cheers,

Don
