As one of my mirrors is with broken glass (after an unsuccessful parking of a lady next to my car few weeks ago) now I'm looking for a spare... I'm browsing the online shops and I'm just curious - as my car has heated mirrors that dim together with the rear view mirror, does it mean that all XJ8 have this features?!

And one more question - is the X300 side mirror glass the same as ours?

P.S> Another extra question - what are the so called "wing mirror glass"? For example this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIGHT-WING...item4d02c5afdb Have anyone tried one of these? Is it worth?

 

I don't think mine are heated mirrors but I haven't really paid attention.

 

All Jag oem mirrors are heated, some are chromatic. The way to tell on the chromatic is the 3 wire connectors on the back, two to the heater elements, and a single (I think purple) wire to the dimming feature. They're around £100 each and can be used either side. I've plenty of standard ones you can buy from me. Don't bother with the cheap stick on jobs.

 

They go on in conjunction with the Heated Rear Window.
Very effective (hasn't risen above freezing point here for ten days. )
You'll not have much need for this accessory in FL?

yeah i figured since the temperature hasn't been to freezing but twice this winter and today its been in the 70s in the panhandle, I'm likely to never know what its like to see the heated mirror feature as my car is always garaged overnight lol. One cool feature that I'll never use is the passenger mirror tilt down when you are in reverse tap the mirror down button and it tilts down to see the curb...we don't parallel park here either so I'll never use it lol
