Does your front exhaust have this piece?

Does your front exhaust pipe have a separate short stub section on it at the very front, but only on one side? It is shown in the parts catalog picture below as #10.

Has *anyone* seen a pipe like this on a XJ/XJR?

The parts listing is for a XK8 VIN A3xxxx and up. So, it should not be on the car ... but it is. And it is on the opposite side from what is shown.

I've only seen one like this for sale. Of the XJR's exhausts I've seen, they're all equal length with braided flexi couplers at the flange end (where the cats fit)

Are you going to change it? I've always thought this section was stainless steel, having had 2 sandblasted recently they look to be stainless. Has a baffle come adrift inside?
